Gold Coast Villa Knocks Mermaid Waters off Top Spot to Claim Suburb’s Priciest Property Title

A contemporary villa has broken Mermaid Waters residential price record by selling for $1.875 million. The brand-new home, located at 36A Avanti St, surpassed its twin neighbor at No. 36, which held the title after selling in an off-market deal for $1.845 million in May.

The luxury villa sold for $1.875 million.

The sale trumped the previous record of $1.845 million, which was held by the villa’s twin.

The luxurious five-bedroom property, which held the record, sold for just under its $1.895 million listing price to local buyers. JW Prestige Agents’ Jordan Williams and Kurt Gomez closed the deal last week.

“Local buyers looking to move from the west side of the highway and get a bit of a sea-change,” Mr Williams said.

“A young family and really liked that they could have their boat and jetski out the back on the water but also still only be a six minute walk to the beach.”

“They also loved the rooftop terrace and quality of the build.”

Mermaid Waters is the next hot spot for the Gold Coast, according to JW Prestige Agents’ Jordan Williams. He said multiple buyers made offers on the recently sold luxurious five-bedroom home at 36A Avanti St. Mermaid Waters is “clearly the next hot spot” and offers more value than its “big sister” Broadbeach Waters. The market is strong, with buyers realizing it won’t crash and trying to get in before prices jump. Mermaid Waters’ median house price has risen 10% in the past year and 43.3% in five years to $935,000.
